The Public Map
Your public map at app.fieldlinkmissions.com/[slug] requires no login to view. Share this link in church bulletins, on your website, or on social media. Church maps are deliberately kept out of search engines: they carry a no-index instruction and our robots file excludes them, so your map is found through the links you share, not through Google.
Map Features
The public map is available to anyone with your map URL — no login required. Visitors can:
- Click any missionary pin to open their full profile with photo, family, location, organization, bio, gallery, and prayer letters
- Click your church's gold ✝ marker to see your church card — name, pastor, address, service times, contact links, and ministry badges
- Filter by organization or search by name
- Browse the sidebar list of all missionaries — clicking the missionary count in the header opens it
- Read prayer letters, view photos, and watch video updates right on the map
- Zoom from a world view down to town level — scroll or pinch to zoom, drag to pan
About the Map Itself
The base map is built from OpenStreetMap data and served entirely from Field Link Missions' own servers. No map requests go to third-party map providers, there are no usage limits or API keys, and nothing about your visitors is shared with a mapping company. The map shows countries, regions, cities and towns; it intentionally stops short of street-level detail, which keeps it fast and avoids pinpointing exact addresses.
The map's colours are matched to your theme automatically — land, water, roads, borders and labels are tinted from the theme's palette, so a dark theme gets a dark map and a light theme a light one.
Trial & Status Banners
During your trial, a blue banner appears on the public map showing days remaining. During a grace period it turns amber. A suspended account shows a red overlay. These are automatically removed once an account is active and in good standing.
Map Themes
The map applies the theme selected in your Settings, and the base map's colours follow the theme too (see About the Map Itself above). When using the website embed, you can optionally override the theme using the Theme Override selector in the embed panel — this lets your embedded map match your website's color scheme even if it differs from your kiosk theme.
